Ciao Bella is a Hurley 20 bilge keel sailing yacht, she is my second 'proper' boat. having had some great times in a Fantasie 19 called Jelly Bean I decided it was time to increase my sailing range with a boat that could successfully bridge the gap between the huge fun of being able to explore every nook and cranny of a harbour or estuary and proper sea going ability. I hope this will be the case :~)
My new sail arrived today, the quality looks pretty good to my untrained eye.
Only time will tell, it will certainly be nice to be sailing under my own number.:0)
Ah.. the sail number wasn't known when I got the boat. Not even listed with the SSR No and that was in 1995. The HOA have the original list of numbers so have issued me with one which had never been used. Not sure when I'm launching, she's pretty well ready to go in now but I can't go on the mooring until 1st April and I'll be away over Easter. It wont be too long :) The weather doesn't feel like the start of the season :)
Lovely!!!! :o)
ReplyDeleteGot my genoa in for a UV strip at the moment but it'll be a while before I can afford a new main...
B.t.w - we're 90 boats apart - mine is sail no. 109 (Nov 1967 according to Nick V.)
When do you launch - I've just rung up the yard and postponed mine a fortnight......
